Principal Report
Principal for the Day
It has been lovely to have some help with Principal work! Last Friday, we had Principal O’Shea taking the reigns for the day. After before school yard duty, Principal O’Shea supported and delivered teaching in the Arc, ably supporting Mrs Paolucci with our junior students. She fielded the many questions about more free time from the senior school, and then worked on announcements for assembly. Principal O’Shea did a great job presenting Student of the Week certificates to very deserving students. I want to extend a big thank you to both Principal Lewis and Principal O’Shea for their assistance – you both did an excellent job!

Paper Market Day

Swimming Term 4
All students from Foundation to Year 6 are strongly encouraged to take part in the school swimming program at Doug Ellis Swimming pool in weeks 9 and 10 of this term. Please note that this will be an eight-day program. Parents need to give consent and pay by today, Thursday 27th November. If you have not yet given consent and paid, please go into your Compass parent portal by today. We would hate for any students to miss out! Thank you.
Working Bee
What a wonderful school community! ARPS pulled together last Friday afternoon for a chance to meet each others, work with our children in nature and improve the environment that our children work and play in most days during the year. Thank you so much to our wonderful families, and huge thanks to Mr Mottershead for his work in setting up, co-ordinating the event and cooking the sausages!
Thankyou to the families that donated money towards our Working Bee.

Gymnast of the Week!!
Congratulations to Alice, who has only been doing gymnastics for 6 months, however, had outstanding results in a competition over the weekend, including 2nd place on the beam, and 3rd on the vault, bars, rings and floor. Well done- we are very proud of you!

Swimmer of the week!!
Mia passed her Frog level at swimming this week and moves up to Stingray (2nd highest level).
Congratulations Mia

Sport (or other activity) achievement of the week
If your child has received an award for their preferred activity outside of school (eg. sport, dancing, karate, etc.) please let us know and we would love to celebrate their achievements in our newsletter. Please send some information and a photo to our school office on albany.rise.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Free Dress Birthdays
Some students find it difficult to come to school on their birthdays, however, we want them to be here and enjoy the day with their classmates. From now on, at Albany Rise PS, a child can come to school in free dress on their birthday! It makes the day special for them (and we can easily tell who is having a birthday and celebrate with them!)
Enrol Now for Foundation 2026!
If you have a child starting Foundation, we still have limited places available. Please contact the office for more information. As we have commenced our transition to school program, please ensure any new students are enrolled as soon as possible so they don’t miss out.
Planning for 2026 – Are you leaving ARPS?
We ask that you let us know if you are moving or have enrolled to another school in 2026. We require this information as soon as possible to establish classroom structures for the start of the new school year. If your child is currently in F-5 and will not be at ARPS in 2026, please notify the school office or email as soon as possible.
Warm regards,
Jane.

Thank you!
