Grovedale West 2025 Concert of Music and Magic

Thursday, 4th December
Concert Night: Doors open at 5:50 pm, concert starts at 6:30 pm.

Rehearsal Day (4th Dec)

Prep, Year 1, 2 & 3 and Choir only.

Students will travel with their class to the Arena to familiarize themselves with the performance space.
Rehearsal: Closed to the public.
Attire: Full school uniform.

Concert Night

Costume: Students wear their performing costume to the Arena, *Choir, Circus, Djembe and Comperes may be different - these students have received their information.
Student Entry: Students enter through Door 1. Students will be collected by their families from the floor, at the conclusion of the concert.
Public Entry: Parents and friends enter via upstairs Door.
Assisted Seating: Enter via Lift. Staff will be present to assist. Notify the school prior if assisted seating is required.
Child Safe Practices: Parents and friends are not permitted on the floor or backstage during the performance. Staff will support students during the concert.

Filming/ Photography

It’s less than on weeks until the big night! A lot of preparation goes into this event to make it a fun and enjoyable experience for the children, so thanks to everyone for your efforts. The Concert will be filmed by SC Productions. If parents/carers/visitors want to video or take photos of their child, to meet our Child Safe obligations all filming/photos must be of parents/carers own child only and from your seat. Photo's or video's must not be shared on any social media platforms.

Costumes

With all costumes, we encourage students to wear something that will not interfere with their ability to perform. E.g. items in their hands like umbrellas or bulky costumes.

Appropriate footwear or going barefoot is allowed on stage. Please note, if your child’s costume includes wearing no shoes, please bring appropriate footwear to wear when they are not performing.

Year 3’s: Children of the World

Costume ideas: National Costume or colours of a country.

Year 4’s: Elvis

Costume ideas: Elvis, 1950s Fashion, Rock n Roll Outfits, Black Leather, Black & White Striped T-Shirts, Polka Dots, Flowy Skirts etc.

Year 1/2’s: Pinocchio Characters

Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Geppetto, Blue Fairy, Figaro, Lampwick, Stromboli etc.

Preps: Snow White

Costume Ideas: Characters from Snow White

Snow White, Evil Queen, Dopey, Grumpy, Bashful, Sneezy, Sleepy, Happy, Magic Mirror, Huntsman, Doc, Prince etc.

Year 5’s: The Beach Boys

Costume Ideas: Beach related wear, Hawaiian Print Shirts, Rashies, Hats, Sunglasses, Grass Skirts, Frangipanis, Tropical Tops etc.

Year 6’s: Katy Perry

Costume Ideas: Think BRIGHT coloured clothing and different textures! Sequins, Tulle tutus, Ribbons, Hair Wigs or Clips, Animal Print, Grass Skirts, Flower Hair Pieces etc.

All costumes must be appropriate for a Primary school performance. No revealing or otherwise inappropriate clothing will be permitted.
