Year 10 Mentoring Program – Building Leadership and Connection
Last Friday, our Year 10 mentors met with their Year 7 mentees for the second time as part of our ongoing mentoring program. This initiative is designed to develop leadership skills in our senior students while fostering a culture of academic excellence across the College. It also helps create a sense of belonging for younger students by pairing them with like-minded older peers.
Last week’s session focused on exam preparation, effective study habits, and techniques for academic success. The room was buzzing with energy as students shared their experiences from the recent exam block, learning from one another in a supportive environment.
The program will continue in 2026 as the current participants move into Years 11 and 8, and we welcome a new cohort of mentors and mentees from Years 10 and 7. The program is open to all students in these year groups who demonstrate a strong academic interest or talent in areas such as the arts, TAS, or sport.
If your son is interested in participating as a mentor or mentee, please contact Mr Paul Cummins at PCummins@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au.
