Principal's Report

As we move further into Term 2, it has been fantastic to see the continued sense of connection across our school community. The events and opportunities outlined below all reflect our ongoing commitment to our school values, building strong relationships, showing respect and appreciation, and creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
đââď¸ Athletics DayÂ
Our recent Athletics Day was a wonderful example of our school values in action and teamwork, encouragement, and community spirit were on display throughout the entire day. A sincere thank you to all of our parent and community volunteers. Your willingness to give your time not only ensured the day ran smoothly, but also modelled to our students the importance of contribution and connection. Events like these strengthen our community and provide students with a sense of belonging, pride, and shared achievement. A big thank you to Mr McLoughlan and Amy Snow for their efforts preparing for the event.Â
đ Education Support DayÂ
On Saturday 16 May, we recognise Education Support Day, and throughout Week 4 we will be celebrating the incredible contribution of our Education Support (ES) staff.
This includes our:
Classroom-based ES staff
Office team
IT support
Maintenance staff
OSHC team
These staff members play a vital role in supporting student learning, wellbeing, and inclusion every single day. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is deeply felt across our school. It is an opportunity for us, as a community, to pause and show gratitude, something that strongly aligns with our values of respect and appreciation. Families are warmly invited to be part of this by sending a message of thanks via email. Small acts of recognition help strengthen the culture of care and connection we value so highly.
đśââď¸ Walk Safely to School Day
We are excited to be participating in National Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 22 May.
This initiative supports:
Healthy lifestyles
Independence and confidence in our students
Opportunities for social connection before the school day begins
Walking, scooting, or riding to school promotes not only physical wellbeing, but also a sense of routine and readiness for learning. To support this, we are seeking volunteers with a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) to assist with a âwalking busâ. This is a fantastic way to connect with other families while supporting our students in a safe and positive way.
Please see Compass for further details.
đ Year 7 Placement Forms
A reminder to our Grade 6 families that Year 7 placement forms are due by Friday 8 May.
This applies to all students, regardless of their chosen pathway. Ensuring these forms are returned on time supports a smooth and well-organised transition process for all students.

đĽ Motherâs Day BreakfastÂ
We are looking forward to welcoming families to our Motherâs Day Breakfast this Friday at 8:00am in the gymnasium. This event is about more than just sharing muffins and muesli, it is an opportunity to come together as a community and acknowledge the important role that parents, carers, and special people play in our studentsâ lives.
Â
We also extend our warmest wishes to all of our mums and special people for Motherâs Day on Sunday. Your ongoing support, care, and partnership with the school is deeply valued and appreciated.
đ Bogan Bingo
Our upcoming Bogan Bingo event is shaping up to be a fantastic night, with almost 85 people already attending, and there are still a few seats remaining! Importantly, the event is 100% going ahead.
Â
This is not just a night of bingo, itâs a full evening of entertainment, including a comedy show, great company, and plenty of laughs. Events like this play an important role in building community connection beyond the school day, giving families and staff the chance to come together in a relaxed and social setting. If youâre considering coming along, weâd love to see you there, gather your table and join in what promises to be a memorable night. Use this link to purchase your tickets!

â ď¸ Industrial ActionÂ
We would like to keep families informed regarding upcoming industrial action.
At this stage, our half-day stop work action is scheduled for Tuesday 26 May.
If it proceeds:
Students will not be required at school until 12:08pm
Families impacted in Term 1 are likely to be impacted again
We understand that this may cause inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding. We will continue to communicate any updates as they arise via Compass.
Â
Thank you for your continued support in strengthening our school community. It is through shared effort, mutual respect, and strong connections that we create the best possible environment for our students to live and learn by the sea.
Â
Have a great week.
Louise Kahle
