ANZAC Day

Our IEC students have been learning about the significance of ANZAC Day and the importance of remembering and honouring the sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand soldiers.

Students explored the symbolism of poppies from Flanders Fields and created artworks as a visual reflection of remembrance and respect. They also learned about the care packages families sent to soldiers during wartime, including traditional ANZAC biscuits, helping them understand the connection between home and those serving overseas.

Lest we forget.

Science and Visual Arts 

In Science, Mrs Lansdowne guided students through creating tin foil boats, testing their ability to float while gradually adding rubber stoppers of different sizes. Students explored how much weight their boats could hold before sinking, leading to great discussions around buoyancy and design.

In Visual Arts, students showed their creativity by recreating The Bedroom by Vincent van Gogh. Their work captured the colours and unique perspective of the original.
