Year 10 HSIE

This term Year 10 HSIE has been learning about the Holocaust. To understand how it happened, they have been examining Nazi ideology through primary sources. This includes the study of a children's book called 'The Poisonous Mushroom', which was designed to be read by primary-aged students. This picture book showed them how to identify whether someone was Jewish and how to exclude them from everyday society.

After reading the book, students then discussed how these views caused the Holocaust to happen and how to make sure something like it never happens again.

Legal Studies Police Station and Court House Visit

On Friday 8 May, our Year 11 and 12 Legal Studies students visited the Inverell Police Station and Inverell Local Court to see the law in action.

Students toured the police station with Sergeant Ross Chillcott, explored police equipment and facilities, and gained an insight into policing and forensic procedures.

They then attended Inverell Local Court to observe court proceedings and learn more about the legal system firsthand.

A big thank you to Sergeant Chillcott, the Local Court and court staff for providing such an informative experience for our students.
