ANNUAL REPORT 2025

I am pleased to share our School Annual Report Summary with the community. The report highlights our achievements, student learning outcomes, wellbeing initiatives, and progress towards our school goals throughout 2025.

We thank our students, staff, families, and wider community for their ongoing support and partnership. Together, we continue to build a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment for all.

The full Annual Report is available on our school website, and I encourage all families to access this.

Summary – Learning

In 2025, Baxter Primary School continued to strengthen student learning through our Instructional Model based on the Gradual Release of Responsibility. Teacher assessment results remained above similar schools in English and above both similar schools and the state average in Mathematics.

Our NAPLAN results continued to be a significant strength, with Year 3 and Year 5 students outperforming the state and similar schools in Reading and Numeracy. Highlights included Year 3 Reading at 97% and Numeracy at 94%. Our three-year average results also remained consistently above state and similar school averages.

Wellbeing

Student wellbeing remained a key priority throughout 2025. We continued to strengthen mental health and wellbeing supports, particularly for vulnerable students, while leading local schools in the implementation of the Respectful Relationships program.

Our Wellbeing Team regularly monitored student wellbeing through structured planning and SMART goals, supported by our chaplaincy service. Students reported strong outcomes in the Attitudes to School Survey, particularly in Sense of Connectedness and Effective Management of Bullying, both well above state and similar school averages.

We also continued embedding our ASPIRE values — Accountability, Showing Kindness, Perseverance, Inclusivity, Respect, and Effort — across all areas of school life.

Engagement

Building strong connections with students and families remained a focus in 2025. We expanded Lunchtime Clubs, introduced Community Connect opportunities for families, and successfully implemented our Foundation Transition Program.

Student absences remained below state and similar school averages, supported by attendance initiatives including improved communication through Compass, attendance monitoring, family engagement strategies, and attendance awards and plans.

We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the Traditional
