Wellbeing Update
For our students
TRIBES
We had a successful first session of Tribes in Term 1, where all students in the school met with their Tribe group and teacher and reconnected after a big first term.
Our Tribes program began last year, and students from Prep - Year 5 belong to a Tribe. Multiple times throughout the term, we hold a Tribes session where groups meet together, engage in activities together and form connections across the school. Students stay in their Tribe year after year, so they always have another space where they belong in the school.
Last term, our new staff and students met their Tribes for the first time, and the first session was full of laughter and learning about each other.
We have 2 Tribes sessions scheduled for this term, and lots of activities designed to boost engagement and foster connectedness throughout the school (Week 5 and Week 9).
Have a chat with your children about their Tribe.
RISE Up
The RISE Up Leaders will get to work later this term, with a focus on refreshing the school on anti-bullying, and building inclusivity throughout the school.
They will have their first session together in Week 2 of this term.
RISE Up (formally known as SUP) is a group of leaders from Year 5 and 6 who will work together throughout the year to build awareness around bullying, encourage kindness and respect, and support their peers in the playground.
Watch this space for an update on what the RISE Up leaders are up to!
Relationships and Sexuality Education
In line with our Health and Personal Social Capability curriculums, our Year 5 and 6 students will be receiving relationship and sexuality education in Week 5 and 6 this term. This content is delivered by trained teachers from Life Ed Victoria, and covers emotions, relationships, changes associated with puberty and human reproduction (Year 6 only).

For our Families
Here is a link to some podcasts and learning around mental health and wellbeing in children and families.
The resources are developed by Emerging Minds which is an organisation dedicated to advancing the mental health and emotional wellbeing of Australian infants, children, adolescents and their families. There are plenty of resources and readings available on the website:
