Laughing and Learning with Scripts!

Following on from our work exploring the fun and creative world of skits, which are short, scripted scenes that often use humour to tell a story or joke. We have started to work on longer and more elaborate scripts, which students will workshop and rehearse in preparation for their performance pieces early next term.

Students in Years 3/4 have been reading about classic fairytales and the reimagining of some well-known classics, such as Hansel & Gretel and Jack and the Beanstalk.

Students in Years 5/6 have been exploring more socially relevant topics by reading scripts focusing on emotions, bullying and belonging.

Rehearsals have been a key part of our process, which helps us to refine our delivery and support one another as we prepare for our performances. The classroom has been filled with laughter and positive energy as students experiment with storytelling and stagecraft in a supportive environment.

It’s been a joyful journey of learning, laughter, and self-expression!

Hope everyone has a fabulous and safe school holidays!
