From the Year 4 Classroom

It’s been a fabulous term of whole school events and a whole lot of learning. A highlight of this fortnight has been our visits to Woods Point. We got just as much joy from it as the residents did. The time went by way too quickly and we wanted to stay longer!!!! We were in awe of the robot cats that some of the residents have to keep them company.

The R U OK? Day Breakfast was a huge success. Thank-you to all the families who attended.

The Athletics Carnival was also a fabulous event. It was so good to see all the students participating with such enthusiasm. Congratulations to Loretto who were the winning house and congratulations to Isobelle Allpress who won the Year 4 Encouragement Award. Well done, Izzy!!

We have spent the last two weeks wrapping up the term:

We have finished our class novel, ‘The Wild Robot’ and we intend to watch the movie before the term concludes.

Our Persuasive letters have been handwritten in our finest handwriting, identifying reasons why having a robot in our homes would be an advantage.

In Inquiry, we presented our proposals to a mock ‘Council’ and took part in a vote to decide which idea is the most effective and impactful.

In Religion, we have explored the creation story in Genesis and ways we can care for our environment.

Pen Licences- The Learner Pen Licences have continued to be achieved over the last fortnight.

We would like to wish all our families a safe and relaxing holiday! Enjoy the break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back, refreshed and ready for a fun-filled Term 4.
