Principal's Message

As Term 3 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for another wonderful term at Mentone Girls’ Secondary College. Together, we have achieved so much – from outstanding musical performances at the Spring Concert and the Symphonic Band’s Gold award at the Victorian Schools Music Festival, to the energy and spirit shown during R U OK? Day and the celebrations of Body Kind Week. These moments reflect our values of Achievement and Inclusivity, while also reminding us of the importance of kindness, community, and supporting one another.

We also celebrated learning in creative ways this term, including the Market Day, theatre performances and the VCE/Senior Music Soiree. Our students have once again shown what is possible when they are empowered to take the lead, use their talents, and share their voices with confidence.

This week has been filled with positive energy through Body Kind Week, with activities that encouraged fun, friendship, and school spirit. On the final day of term – Friday 19 September – we look forward to finishing on a high with our Colour Run Festival. This is always a highlight of the year, bringing together students and staff in a vibrant and joyful celebration of community.

Looking ahead, we are absolutely delighted that our school numbers will continue to grow in 2026. This strong demand for MGSC reflects the confidence families place in us and the vibrant culture we have built together. With this growth comes the exciting opportunity to welcome not only new students but also new staff, who will bring fresh perspectives and energy to share in our wonderful school community. It is both rewarding and inspiring to see our values of Empowerment, Achievement, Inclusivity, and Creativity continue to attract so many people to our College.

Wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday with family and friends. Take the time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the spring sunshine. I look forward to seeing everyone back, ready for an exciting Term 4.

Warm regards

Linda Brown
