Supporting the 70 year celebrations
VCE Art & Design Show
We're kicking things off by supporting the Art & Design Show on Wednesday 15 October.
Come along, say hello, enjoy a glass of wine, and take in the incredible work created by our talented Year 11 and 12 students.
70th Celebrations
Next up are the 70th Celebrations on Sunday 26 October. The PFA will be running a sausage sizzle and we’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day.
If you’re able to lend a hand, please follow the link to sign up.

Don’t forget, if you are unable to help on the day, you can contribute by making a donation of $12 which goes towards the purchase of a packet of sausages. With over 650 ex-students already registered, it promises to be a fantastic event!
Second-hand Uniform Shop
The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) would like to formally notify families of a change to the operation of the MGSC Second-hand Uniform Shop.
From 2026, the PFA will no longer be selling items on behalf of families. Instead, the Uniform Shop will only be accepting donated uniform items.
The current model has become increasingly time-consuming and administratively complex for both the uniform shop volunteers and the office administration team. It also places ongoing pressure on the PFA to recruit and train volunteers to manage these processes. Given these challenges, the PFA has decided it is time to move to a simpler, more sustainable model.
What’s Changing?
Effective from 16 September 2025, the Second-Hand Uniform Shop will operate on a donations-only basis.
What this means for families
- The shop will now only accept donated items.
- Families wishing to sell uniforms will need to do so independently (eg through Facebook Marketplace or similar platforms).
Why this change?
- Simplified processes will make it easier for more volunteers to get involved.
- It allows the shop to continue offering affordable uniforms to families, without the ongoing challenge of staffing and administration.
100% of proceeds from sales will go directly back into school resources and programs.
What Happens to Items Already in the Shop?
If you have previously supplied items for sale on consignment:
- They will continue to be offered for sale until after the final uniform sale on on Orientation Day (Tuesday 9 December)
- You will be contacted and given the choice to -
- Donate unsold items to the PFA or
- Collect them when the shop reopens in 2026.
Donation guidelines
As above:
- Only current-style uniform items can be donated.
All donations must be clean and in good, saleable condition (no tears, stains, holes, or broken zips)
If you wouldn’t buy it, please don’t donate it.
Donations can be dropped off at the school office during business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 4:15pm.
The PFA works closely with the school community to raise funds that directly support our students. Contributions from uniform sales and other PFA initiatives have enabled the purchase of program materials, learning resources, and equipment such as our 3D printer, laser cutter, gym equipment and sports uniforms, supporting a wide range of student needs and opportunities that would not otherwise be available at the college (including $14,000 worth of funding towards student learning in 2025!).
The PFA sincerely thanks all families for their continued support and encourages everyone to embrace this new, more sustainable model for our Uniform Shop.
