Literacy Intervention
with Mrs Maatouk
At Granville East Public School, we’re proud to offer a structured Literacy Intervention program designed to support small groups of three students across Years 1–3. These targeted sessions focus on three core literacy areas:
By working in such small groups, teachers can tailor instruction to each child’s individual needs, closely observe progress, and quickly adapt strategies to support learning—exactly the kind of personalised, responsive teaching shown to be highly effective in improving literacy outcomes.
Children benefit not only academically but also gain confidence and motivation as they experience success in a nurturing environment. These interventions play a vital role in helping all students build strong foundations in literacy and develop a lifelong love of reading and writing.
BONUS: As the weather warms up, we’ve begun taking our learning outside! Whether it’s reading under the trees, answering questions in the sunshine, or enjoying a bit of fresh air during writing and group work, the outdoors has become an inspiring extension of our lessons. Here's to more sunshine and smiles as we head into the new season!
