Welcome back for Term 4!

Literacy

This term, we will be exploring fiction texts for our narrative unit. We will be doing a deep dive into the text 'Rose meets Mr Wintergarten' to develop our understanding of the narrative text structure and features. This week, we are beginning to develop our ideas around various problems and solutions that we could develop into story ideas.

We have also begun reading for enjoyment, Roald Dahl's 'The Twits', with lots of oral discussions to support our reading comprehension. 

Harry highlighted that author Roald Dahl writes similarly to Dr Seuss, with lots of funny, made up words, which makes his books a fun, interesting read!

Numeracy

Our 1/2s are pretty excited to be learning about multiplication. We will begin to build on strategies to solve simple multiplication questions, such as the use of groups, skip counting, repeated addition and arrays, with a particular aim on mastering the two times tables initially. 

Typing Club

During Rotations, students were introduced to the website 'Typing Club'. This website supports students to develop their typing skills by learning letter placements on a keyboard, which is a handy skill to have.
