Performing Arts 

Grade 1

Students have continued to use their imagination to create drama. They have learnt about Carnevale in Italy where people wear elaborate costumes and masks. Students have shown expression through their body while wearing neutral masks and have re-enacted a fairytale using character masks.

 

Grade 2

Students have been learning about the different types of puppets. They have continued working collaboratively in small groups to rehearse and perform Aesop’s Fables told through shadow puppets with a focus on the voice.

 

Grade 3 & 4

Students have been working in small groups to rehearse and perform a short melodrama script including using props and costumes.

 

Grade 5 & 6

Students have been working with a partner on a series of plays called “Take 2” which are written for 2 actors that go for 2 minutes. They have been focussed on how to memorise lines and action while using props and costumes.

Music Clubs

Choir - Rehearsals are held on Wednesday lunchtimes.

Marimba Band - The Rhythm Makers rehearse on Monday lunchtimes.

Rock Band - The Tide Breakers rehearse on Friday lunchtimes.
