Stress Ball Making in the Library
🌟 Squeeze the Day! 🌟 Students are invited to join the Wellbeing Committee in the school library for a fun-filled Stressball Making Session on Thursday 31st October! Let’s unleash your creativity as we craft colourful stress balls to help you unwind and tackle Term 4. This is also a good opportunity to check in with each other and discuss all the wonderful wellbeing activities on offer in the library.
Screen Smart Series - Free Parent Webinar
Tuesday 29 October
The Friends' School has purchased a whole school licence for the "Screen Smart Series" seminars with Dr Justin Coulson. All staff and parents have FREE access to this online event at 7.00pm on Tuesday 29 October. The event consists of a 40-minute presentation and about 20 minutes of question time. Dr Justin Coulson will discuss actionable strategies for parents and caregivers to navigate the digital landscape safely and effectively. From setting healthy screen time limits to fostering open communication about online risks, empowering our children to navigate the digital world responsibly is critical to ensuring their safety online and protecting their well-being. If you are unable to join the seminar live, you will be able to access the recording using the same link for 14 days.
Year 8 Gymnastics Program
Starting Week 3 in Term 4
Year 8 students will complete three lessons of Gymnastics at Kingborough Gymsports within their PE lessons. These lessons will enhance strength, coordination and balance through a variety of fun activities using specialist equipment. All sessions will be coached by qualified Gymnastics instructors.
Students will travel to and from Kingborough Gymsports by bus and will need to wear their PE uniform, bring a drink bottle and warm clothes.

Schools Triathlon Challenge Swim / Bike / Run

The 2024 Schools Triathlon Challenge (STC) will be held in Hobart (Bellerive Beach) for Secondary Schools and Colleges (Years 7-12) on Thursday 28 November 2024. The STC is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle choices to school students regardless of ability, sporting background or current lifestyle. Participation and enjoyment are at the foundation of this event.
The cost is $25 which will be added to your School fee’s account. The cost is the same for entering in individual, team or both events.
ALL STUDENTS MUST ENTER THEIR INDIVIDUAL DETAILS - EVEN IF ONLY COMPETING IN A TEAM. Please make sure you enter the correct details of your teammates and that everyone has confirmed that you are a team.

Art Club
Do you love Art and want to develop techniques and creative thinking? The group offers students the opportunity to extend their art making practice in a number of forms which include but is not limited to: drawing, paint, photography and sculpture skills. Materials are provided, come and enjoy a stimulating pursuit with people who love Art. Students from Years 7 to 12 who would like to join co-curricular Visual Arts, should contact Luke Edmunds.
