Carlsruhe Annexe /

Main Campus - Year 4

Monday was a hive of activity at Carlsruhe with the Year 3 students visiting as part of their transition day. The Year 4 students were excellent role models as they partnered up with their Year 3 buddies to work together on a variety of tasks. The students enjoyed learning about the Carlsruhe animals & cubby building and recorded the information in the ‘Year 3 Experience Booklets’. They used a map of the grounds to follow directions and find various locations using the coordinates on the map. The students looked at Google Classroom on the Chromebooks and wrote a story from the picture prompt in google docs as part of their writing assignment.

It was lovely to see how the children enjoyed playing together and experiencing the many different activities at Carlsruhe during playtime. Some of the Year 4 students made the following comments:

  • I thought it was fun for the year 3s to come out and enjoy Carlsruhe. They have seen what we have here, and they will be prepared for next year, by Arlo.
  • It was cool when the year 3s came to explore Carlsruhe and they got to see all the animals, by Harry.
  • I thought it was good for the year 3s to come and experience Carlsruhe and have a chance to see the animals and cubbies, by Leo.
  • I thought the year 3s were really engaged and happy to learn about the things we do at Carlsruhe, by Lewis.
  • I loved that the year 3s got to come out to Carlsruhe because I got to see my friends experience the great things at Carlsruhe, by Piper.
  • I like how the year 3s came out to learn about Carlsruhe because it would be hard to come to Carlsruhe without knowing what to do. I also liked how 4AI came out as well, by Lily.

Parent Information Evening

We also held a Carlsruhe Parent Information evening for 2025 Year 4 students. The parents were informed about the organisation of Carlsruhe, the many activities that occur throughout the year, the use of devices for Year 4s, the jobs program, animal roster, river detectives – water testing, habitat survey, macroinvertebrates incursion, Thursday activities that include cooking, gardening, science activities, art & craft and woodwork.

Carlsruhe is such a wonderful and unique experience for our students.

  • Carlsruhe Campus has been part of our school since 1985. Initially a 1 classroom campus, it has developed over the years into the unique experience we have today.
  • We aim to provide students with the opportunity to learn through hands-on, activities that develop independence, cooperation, leadership and practical skills.
  • Year 4 - bridges the gap between the Middle Unit and Senior Unit, supporting students to develop ownership and responsibility for their learning.
  • Opportunities to work collaboratively include shared projects, Jobs and Activities programs, Science and River Detectives investigations and of course designing and building cubbies - always a highlight of the Carlsruhe.
