WPS Community Children’s Garden

The weeds are taking over! We’ve been busy moving the unwanted plants (ie WEEDS!) into the compost bins, topping up the garden beds with FoGo compost and planting our summer crops.

It was great to learn about corn seeds, which are just dried out yellow corn kernels from organic home-grown plants. We scratched the dried out kernels (ie seeds) from the old corn cobs and planted them in our refreshed garden bed.

Keep an eye out for communications regarding a special Parent’s Garden Club in November (weekend date TBC). We’ll be preparing the potted up plants for the Carlsruhe Fair, checking and fixing the irrigation system before summer, preparing garden beds for the students to plant into, etc.
