The weeks are certainly flying by! We do hope everyone was able to enjoy some family time and the amazing weather over the four day break last weekend. This week our students are back into the throes of learning; watching and analysing a movie to review it, exploring the research-design-build and sell process for our Inquiry unit Bizarre Bazaar, learning about fractions, decimals and percentages and summarising non-fiction texts to support testing.

MISSING TPS SPORTS SHIRTS - We are putting the call out for all of our families to check high and low, near and far for our missing sports shirts at home. We are missing 20 shirts! They will have been worn and brought home by students at some point year after competing in one or our many external sports day. Please, please, please if anyone has one at home, can they return it to school with their child asap. We really appreciate your support with this.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep the household recycled items coming in with students. Thank you to every family who has contributed so far.  We need anything that can be recycled from your home or kitchen that is clean and complete. This could be boxes, plastic containers, cardboard cylinders, egg cartons, lids, wool, straws, paper plates or cups, just to name a few. Any and ongoing support with this is really appreciated.

Hands On Learning

This week at Hands On Learning Lachie, Kayden Kaylee and Amber cleaned out the hub with Brett. We spread leftover hay into the garden and put the other half into the compost. For lunch Kayden made bacon burgers and they were so good. We followed this with some more cleaning. We had to pick up some bricks and put them in the skip bin along side of a lot of other things.

State Lawn Bowl Championships in Melbourne

On Wednesday last week I went to Lawn Bowls in Sunbury. In my team was Billy, Jonty and I and in the other team was Millie, Lucas and Hannah. We drew, won and lost our 3 games. It was exciting to be a part of the State Final, we were so close to making the Grand final. Thanks to Mr Tinning, Geoff, Baz and Bernie for training us. Written by Archie.

Hot Shots Tennis in Swan Hill

WACK! I hit the tennis ball over the net and yes I won the point. On the 31st of October, nine lucky girls from Tongala Primary School went to compete in Regional Hotshots Tennis in Swan Hill. We had an eventful day, competing in four games. In game one we played St Mary's Echuca, playing singles and then doubles. Overall we lost to them by four points. Our second games were against Swan Hill and we were tied as we went into the last game, but Swan Hill ended up winning. Then came our final round of the day against St Nickels. Unfortunately we lost. Throughout the day we had a lot of good rallies. We performed really well as we are a little school compared to the others. We came third overall. We would like to say a big thank you to all of the teams that we played against and all of the helpers that set us up for a good day. A massive thanks to your super coach Josh and Mrs Pridham for stepping out of her comfort zone and driving us on the bus all the way to Swan Hill.

Empowered Girls

“Minions, tonight we steal the moon!” This is the Empowered Girls new catch phrase.

This Thursday was our last week for the Empowered girls to go out on adventures in Echuca. From here, we are going to do something in Tonni but we'll tell you about that next week. Anyway, today we went to our last self-defence class and we learnt a tactical standup and how to get out of a choke hold if someone was attacking us. It  was fun and we enjoyed it! Then we made our way to McDonalds to get some lunch.

That was our day! Thank you to Mrs Haw for driving the bus.
