3/4 News

Literacy

Students have been loving reading the novel ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’. With only two chapters to go, students are looking forward to watching the movie to be able to compare the different aspects of the story verse movie.

We have linked our writing to our class novel. Students have been writing a persuasive piece about deforestation and about the importance of protecting the orangutans.

This week in spelling we have been revisiting words they have learned over the past four weeks. We have been doing this by various interactive word work activities…it has been lots of fun!

Maths

Students have worked on developing their knowledge about fractions and have now moved on to learning about time.

Inquiry

We have been exploring how being creative has changed technology over time. Students will soon use skills they have been learning to create their own short animation movie.

General Reminders

Summer Sports

Next Thursday the 14th Tongala will be hosting the Summer Sports. This is going to be a great day and a good chance for our students to develop friendships with students from other schools.

Camp

Not long to go! Thank you to families who have returned their child’s forms. Please ensure you send back the medical form if you have not done so already. Students should have taken home their ‘What to Pack’ list and an itinerary. If you have any questions about camp, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Nikki Cardillo
