It’s been another very busy fortnight in Sport here at Rangeview, here are some of the highlights;

Eastern Regional Athletics Team

Team Rangeview was in action at the Eastern Regional Athletics Finals at Tom Kelly Reserve in Doncaster! We are so proud of our amazing young athletes who competed at this very high level against the top athletes from over 300 schools. A special mention goes to Joel, who finished 2nd in the Under 10 Boys’ discus and has progressed to the State Final next month. A shoutout also goes to Collette for her 3rd place podium finish in the 1500m. Thanks to all our families for their support and to Mr. Sommers for his fantastic photography!

We would also like to recognize the outstanding performances of our athletes on the day. These results are out of over 4,000 students in the region in each age group:

Under 10 Boys: Joel F – 2nd in Discus (Progressed to STATE!), 13th in Shot Put

Under 10 Girls: Phoebe L – 7th in Discus; Rayani R – 6th in 1500m; Edie R – 13th in 800m

Under 11 Boys: Riyon R – 11th in 1500m, 10th in Triple Jump

Under 11 Girls: Collette C – 3rd in 1500m, 12th in 200m; Arya L – 5th in DiscusUnder 12

Boys: Will D – 13th in 1500m; Jared S – 6th in 800m, 11th in 200m; 6th in 4x100m Relay (Will D, Jared S, Henry A, Harry T)

Eastern Regional Volleyball

It was another successful day for Team Rangeview at the EMR Volleyball Finals. Both our boys' and girls' teams battled against some of the strongest teams in the state, showing great team spirit and skill whilst recording some great wins! Overall, both teams finished in the top 5 in the region out of over 300 schools. Thank you to Miss Wallis and Mr. Anderson for all their efforts in training and coaching! Good luck as well to our Girls Division Tennis team and Boys & Girls Regional Softball teams who are competing over the coming fortnight!

Regional Future Stars Hoop Time

On Wednesday, the 30th of October, our Level 3/4 Mixed Future Stars team competed at the Regional Finals! Facing tough competition, our students had a fantastic time and pushed themselves all day, playing four very close games. A big thank you to Mr. McDonald for his coaching and to Maxi B for assisting with transportation on the day! Best of luck to our Level 5/6 All-Star Girls and Level 3/4 All-Star Boys, who will both be competing at Regionals over the coming fortnight!

Run Club – Update

Our next batch of medals and trophies has arrived and will be distributed over the next few assemblies. Please look out for an email the weekend prior to the assembly if your child will be receiving a medal or trophy. After late November, all remaining medals and trophies will be presented at the Run Club breakfast.

Thank you for your continued support! We’ve had over 500 students participate in the program throughout the year!

2025 Rangeview Level 4-6 House Swimming Carnival

Our annual Rangeview House Swimming Carnival will take place on Wednesday, February 5th, at Aquanation. All Level 4-6 students will attend and will have the chance to participate in 50m, 25m, and novelty events (including the water slide!). If you’re interested in the average qualifying times for District Swimming, please look out for an email towards the end of the year. We will also invite any 2025 Level 3 students who are strong 50m swimmers to attend the carnival, with more information to follow in a Google form later this year.

Local Sporting Clubs Thank You – Rangeview Fair

A huge thank you to our local clubs for supporting us by running stalls at our recent Rangeview Fair! These clubs provide fantastic programs for our students, and we highly recommend considering them when looking for a local club for your child!
