Principal News
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer
Today was a very special day for all of us at Sacred Heart. We gathered for a school assembly to witness our beautiful Bethany walk down the aisle in a joyful preparation for her big day.
The mock wedding ceremony was enthusiastically enjoyed by all our students and staff. A special thank you to Marty and the bridal party; Bhavin, Roman, Gail, Fortunato, and Pablo for making this such a fun and memorable experience! ❤️
A note from Bethany:
Firstly, thank you everyone for all your kind words and well wishes on my upcoming wedding. I have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have spoken to me and showed me such love.
I will be getting married at St Ignatius Church in Church Street Richmond at 2pm on Saturday 26th October, if anyone wishes to come to the Church ceremony.
School Crossing Upgrade for Student Safety
Last year, local member Nathan Lambert, the Labor member representing Preston and Reservoir, visited our school. During his visit, Mark requested an upgrade to the school crossing for safety reasons. The crossing has now been moved further away from Bell Street and from cars turning into Clifton Grove.
As a result of this change, the gate closer to the crossing will be open for morning drop off and afternoon pickup. Keeping our children safe is our priority.
New Out Of School Care Provider
I was contacted whilst on my pilgrimage that we will be one of the first schools that Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools will take on the responsibility for our Before and After School Care with MACSEYE. I have contacted Youth Leadership Victoria to notify them that their contact will end at the conclusion of the 2024 school year. As I get more information about our new provider MACSEYE I will share it with the community.
Grill'd Northland - Donation to Sacred Heart
I was premature in announcing our sponsorship with Grilled Northland for the month of September. It is actually during the month of November. As mentioned in previous newsletters, Grill'd Northland have chosen our school as a community partner. During November all customers are given a token to place in the jar of the community partner they would most like to support. The community partner with the most tokens is given a valuable financial reward. As someone who likes his burgers, I can recommend the Grilled Zen Hen!
Please see our Community News page for an exciting offer from Grill'd!
After School Cricket Clinics
Please be aware that there is a slight change to the after school cricket clinics as Monday week is a school closure day. These clinics (free of charge) were a huge success last year with over forty students participating. Michael from Cricket Victoria will be available in the school yard at 3.20 next Wednesday to answer any questions
Alex's Olivia Newton John Wellness Centre Fundraiser
"I would like to share this lovely email from our student Alex - I have his permission"
Hi Mark
Hope you are well and having a great day.
Today my Mum, Antoniette and I went to drop off the money at the ONJ wellness centre. It is a place I remember that also brought back memories of my dear family.
The people we met congratulated me and were extremely happy for the amount I raised ($4300).
They asked me where I would like the money to go. Is it ok if we give it to the wellness centre to make a difference to families who were going through tough times. they asked me today and i wanted to check with you first before I tell them.
Hope to see you soon.
CDS Fundraiser/Environmental Initiative
