Resource Centre

A visual display for Remembrance Day, 11th November 2024, will remain in the Resource Centre for another week as we remember and honour those who gave their lives in service and to remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans and current serving personnel.

To support this display and provide an opportunity for the College community to learn more about Remembrance Day and our war history, a collection of both fiction and non-fiction books have been curated as part of the display.

The collection includes autobiographies and biographies of soldiers, historical accounts by war correspondents, letters from the war front and accounts of life at home during these times.

Many students have taken the time to borrow these books to learn more about our history and the work of those who currently serve in the armed forces.

New fiction and non-fiction books are still arriving across all genres and will be available for students to borrow throughout the school holidays. There is no limit on the number of books and magazines that can be borrowed by students to keep reading while enjoying their holiday break.

“When you learn to read you will be born again and you will never be quite so to alone” Rumer Godden OBE (British author of more than 60 fiction and non-fiction books, nine of which have been made into films).
