GWR Athletics
Thirty five students had an early start Thursday 10 October as they headed to Llamberris Park in Ballarat to compete in the GWR Track and Field. With unusual weather for Ballarat, the athletes enjoyed the sunshine as they strived for their best in each event. With 23 students competing in 46 individual events, the relay runners rallied around these students with plenty of encouragement and support. There was an array of coloured medallions as many of the athletes placed in the top 3 for their event. Congratulations to all students involved in their mammoth effort on the day.
I would like to congratulate the following students wish Emily, Grace, Ruby, Astrid Kareem Jess, Taima, Sharnee and the 17y girls relay all the best at the State Track and Field Championships

Yr 9 & 10 Cricket
On October 22, the Monivae Year 9/10 girls Super 8’s team played in the regional competition at Pedrina Park. Other schools involved were Baimbridge College, Good Shepherd College, Bayview College and Portland Secondary College.
The girls played good consistent cricket all day winning all their games. Our group consisted of regular playing skilled cricketers through to newcomers super keen to enjoy the day and learn new skills.
These girls all need to be congratulated, not only for doing wonderfully on the cricket field, but also in the way they conducted themselves all day.
The Year 10 boys Super 8s team put on a dominant performance on Tuesday, winning all games comfortably and winning the competition. Large scores were hit by all players however an important run of hitting in the final game against Portland by Hugo Headley ensured we posted a good total against the team that would ultimately finish second. Charlie Baker showed potential with the ball and Klay Nicholls could be a dominant left arm quick in years to come. Well done to Angus Frost for leading the team and to all the boys for playing in good spirit with the right balance between competitiveness and fun. Thanks to Campbell Glazebrook for scoring and umpiring during the day
