Auslan

P-2:

As we delve further into the current term, our P-2 cohort is venturing into the captivating world of zoo animals. Through their lessons, they are mastering the signs for various creatures, enriching their Auslan repertoire. Encouraged to embody their chosen animal, whether it be a tiger with its distinctive stripes, agile movements, and noticeable roar, or any other fascinating creature, they are exploring the depths of expression. Additionally, we commend the students who have been selected to lead the national anthem during assemblies, a testament to their dedication and talent, looking forward to the next students to go up. Keep up the excellent work!

Yr 7:

As we transition into the midpoint of this term, our Year 7 students are delving into the intricacies of Auslan with interest. Having understood various handshapes and their corresponding signs, they are now honing their skills in organizing information effectively through lists on their hands. With Unit 2 assessments on the horizon, they are diligently preparing for the "Rainbow challenge," which entails showcasing their proficiency in colour signs with precise HOLM technique, proficient fingerspelling, adept use of a list buoys, and for those daring to take on the challenge, employing Size and Shape Specifiers (SASS). We extend our best wishes to all our Year 7's as they approach their assessment. Good luck!

Kind regards,
