PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

What a wonderful Mother’s Day Breakfast we had at school last week.

It was the one of the smoothest breakfast events I have been a part of at the school, and I am very grateful to all the volunteers (parents and staff) who helped make to make it such an enjoyable morning.

A huge thank you must go to Cassie who ran both the Breakfast and the Stall, from organising the menu, raffle items and the wonderful gifts available at the stall during the day.

I would also like to give my gratitude to the fathers who have been a part of the Mother’s Day Breakfast for many years and will be leaving us at the end of this year as their children move onto secondary school.

Next year we will be needing more dads to part of this wonderful morning for the mums and kids to enjoy.

Thank you, Oscar’s Hangout, The Muffin Van, My Sweet Fix, Flowers by Kathleen, Lux, Natio and all the wonderful local businesses that provided their time and items.

The Parents’ Association, is looking at future events to bring our school community, family, and friends at large together again and celebrate our time together.

One event we have planned is an “International Food Day” where we highlight a cuisine from different countries all over the world. Some ideas we have are - Hoppers (Sri Lanka), Tacos (Mexico), Pasta (Italy), and many more….

We will begin our “International Food Day” with an “Empanada Day” at the end of the 2nd term, so keep an eye out for a more information that will be going out soon.

An empanada is a type of baked or fried turnover consisting of pastry and filling from South America. Options available will be Cheese, Beef, Chicken, Vegetarian and Vegan empanadas.

Another community event that the school and the PA will be taking a part of is the “Keysie Market” on 21/07/2024. One of our wonderful school parents is the organiser of this community event and has invited St Mark’s to be part of the market.

As such we will be organising a “Cake Stall” where we will be asking families to make/provide any baked goods that we could sell at our stall. Apart from the baked items, we will be needing volunteers to help set-up/pack-up, and to attend the stall throughout the day. More details to follow the closer we get to the date.

Any questions or suggestions for future events please contact the Parents’ Association
