Principal's Post

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we learn, the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation, and continue our commitment to working in partnership to establish a future of reconciliation and shared story, now more than ever.

Now More Than Ever

National Reconciliation Week’s theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people must continue.

During Friday's College assembly proceedings, we were honoured to have local Bunurong artist, Adam Magennis, perform a Welcome to Country including an encapsulating smoking ceremony for staff and student leaders, prior to the official launch of Mazenod College's Reconciliation Action Plan.

At Mazenod, we put up our hands & take steps to reconciliation

Some students and staff attended the Walk to the G and Dreamtime game on Saturday night, demonstrating their commitment to unity with a banner symbolising our ongoing journey towards reconciliation.

It's official 🎀

On Friday, May 24th, 2024, we celebrated the official opening and dedication of the newly refurbished Year 8, 9 & 10 building—the longest-standing structure on our campus.

Originally constructed in 1968, this historic building has played a vital role in shaping the education of generations of Mulgrave and surrounding suburbs families, all under the guidance of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Huge thanks to the talented teams at @jardongroup and @cotterreidarchitects, who worked tirelessly alongside our incredible operations & maintenance staff to complete these impressive upgrades, and @edenfostermulgrave for her attendance and contributions!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors and our supportive families who made this transformation possible. Your presence at the opening ceremony was truly appreciated, as it signifies our collective commitment to enhancing the educational experience at Mazenod College.

Dr Edward Simons

Dr Edward Simons, Chief Executive of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), graced us with his presence today! His presence underscores the importance of leadership and mentorship, inspiring students and staff alike, while fostering a stronger connection within the Mazenod community.

We're grateful for the continued support of MACS in nurturing young minds through faith-based education.

All the best,
