Reconciliation Week

“At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.”

Reconciliation Australia, 2024

Every year, 27 May – 3 June is National Reconciliation week and this year’s theme is Now More Than Ever.  The library will display themed books about the 1967 Referendum ; Aboriginal Perspectives ; Mabo and Land Rights ; National Sorry Day and The Stolen Generations to promote greater cultural awareness and understanding about Australia’s shared histories and achievements.

There will also be NRW colouring sheets and pencils in the library for students to create artwork.

With students sitting SACs throughout the year and final VCE exams later in the year, this is a reminder to students and parents that the library has book binding materials and is able to assist students with their bound references.
