MUSIC LEARNING AREA NEWS 

A huge congratulations to our student members of the Production Band. Alex Nash (Yr 10 – Bass Guitar), Kaylee Hamilton (Yr 10 – Guitar 2) and Adriano Riveri (Yr 8 – Guitar 1) have done an amazing job of holding down their parts of this professional musical score on their own. We are fortunate to have such dedicated students who are so keen to put in the time and effort to achieve this. 

Also a big thankyou to Musical Director Damien Ryles who has spent a significant amount of time helping prepare these students. Thankyou also to teachers Annie Stone (Keyboard 3) and David Gill (Percussion) for your contribution to the band, and to Matthew Foo (Drums - Pre Service teacher at Wheelers Hill in 2022) and Zac Jones (Keyboard 2) for joining us as well!  

Production may be over, but we still have a number of music events before the term is done! They are as follows: 

• Percussion, Guitar and Bass Guitar Soiree – Monday June 17th  - 5pm – D01 (Bunjil Centre) 
• Brass and Woodwind Soiree – Wednesday June 19th – 5pm – D01 (Bunjil Centre) 
• Choir Incursion – Thursday June 20th – 8:50am – 3pm 
• Stage Band Incursion – Monday June 24th – Period 3 – 4:20 pm 
• Beginner Concert Band Lunchtime Concert – Tuesday June 25th 

The Stage Band and Choir will be heading to the Victorian School Music Festival in Term 3, so these incursions will provide us with valuable rehearsal time to prepare for this event. 

Parents and carers should ensure that permission is given for relevant events in a timely manner.  

Next term we also look forward to celebrating all our school ensembles at the Winter Concert, which will be held on Tuesday July 23rd at 7pm  in the Bunjil Centre.
