Guest Speaker presents at Lyndale Secondary College – April 2024

On Wednesday 24th April our school had the pleasure of Author Louise Park present to our Year 7s and 8s, in honour of Anzac Day.

Louise is the author of Last Man Out, a book created from the journal entries and letters her grandfather had written whilst he was based at war in Gallipoli, and being the Last man out.

Our students listened attentively and were interested to know more about what our soldiers endured during the war.  Prizes were awarded to our top questions asked.

Louise’s presentation was informative, interesting, funny and sad.  It allowed our students to imagine what life may have been like at war for an average 16-year-old.

Students were happy to stay behind afterwards to talk to Louise, and ask further questions.

It was a lovely afternoon.
