LIVE FROM THE LARYNX - 28th May Gr3-6
On Tuesday the 28th of May, we had Tom Thum, a beatboxer, come to visit our school. Students from grades 3-6 came down to Ted’s Shed to participate in this fascinating experience.
It was a great experience for all of the students and teachers who attended, as well as an amazing learning opportunity for everyone to try a new style of music.
Tom Thum has a great talent with the capability of creating these unique sounds, with only his voice.
During the time Tom Thum was at Holy Rosary, students assisted in making music, practiced beatboxing and even had a section of a song written by Tom Thum performed for us. As well as all this, Tom Thum was kind enough to let some students come up and try beatboxing in front of their teachers and peers.
A special thanks to all of the volunteers who stood up the front as well as to Tom Thum for coming up all the way from Brisbane to come perform for us.

GRADE 1 KNOWLEDGE UNIT
This term in Grade 1, we are learning all about endangered animals and how they become displaced from their homes.
After reading ‘Little Koala Lost’, our students created artworks to accompany their writing, explaining where koalas don’t belong and why. The superstar Grade 1’s are learning that sometimes our actions can cause animals and plants to lose their homes, meaning animals can disappear forever!
Our students are aiming to grow up to become wildlife conservationists and ensure that we don’t lose any more beautiful animals on God’s earth.
