STUDENT OF THE WEEK - CATHOLIC VALUE AWARD

This week our Saint Hero is St Frances Xavier Cabrini  who displayed the value of Generosity.  Next week's Saint Hero will be St Augustine who displayed the value of Judgement. We encourage you to discuss each Saint and their value with your child/ren, helping them to learn how they can live out our Christian values. 

RECONCILIATION WEEK 27th MAY - 3rd JUNE

NOW MORE THAN EVER is the theme for this year's Reconciliation Week. This theme is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.  Michael Chisholm, Aboriginal Education at CES Ltd, talks about the need for deep listening. The following words have been directly from his reflection on last week's Gospel - Deep Listening is a gift given to us from a deeply spiritual place. In the words of Uncle Ron Murray, he describes Deep Listening as, ‘Coming naturally, walking on the land softly and quietly. Listening to the stories around the campfire. Listening to the wind in the trees and the birds. It’s the feeling of a gift, a gift always comes back’.

As humans we need to recognise the power of the Holy Spirit and its gifts. We can do this through ‘Finding God’s Traces in Everything, and through ‘Deep Listening’.

KNIGHTS OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS VISIT

The Order of the Knights of the Southern Cross is an organisation of Catholic laymen who operate with the support of the Australian Bishops. Participating in charitable work the KSC strives to serve the wider community and support those in need. In a long standing partnership with Holy Rosary School, Kevin Lane from the Knights of the Southern Cross attended assembly today to present our Grade 3 sacramental children with a set of Rosary beads as a gift and reminder of their commitment to the Catholic faith.
