Learning in Year 2

On Wednesday, In J14, students explored balance scales and weighed objects. They used the terms ‘heavier and lighter’ to compare the mass (weight) of objects. Students worked in pairs and had lots of fun while weighing and comparing different objects (shoes, scissors, macaroni, toys, glue sticks, etc…) from the classroom. 

On Thursday, Students learned about Bunurong people’s seasons as part of our General studies. They understood that Bunurong people have 6 seasons with each season lasting nearly 2 months. Students also learned that Bunurong people named the seasons depending on the rain, wind and food availability. For both Maths and General Studies students worked in groups collaboratively and cooperatively by following the 3Rs of PSPS.
