Level 3

Level  3

3GE is excited to be past the halfway mark of Term 2 and going on camp!

Reading

In our Reading lessons, we have been learning to distinguish between facts and opinions. Once we have worked out if a statement is a fact or an opinion, we have to share our reasoning behind our decision.

Writing

We have been revising persuasive texts. Our focus this time has been on the different persuasive tools that we can use to be more convincing. At the moment we are arguing for or against whether the boy from the story, ‘Hey Little Ant’, should squish the ant.

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about the different types of angles and how to measure them. We have enjoyed getting to use protractors!

Inquiry

During our Inquiry lessons, we have been brainstorming ideas on how we can make our local community a better place to live in.

Small groups have worked together to convince the ‘mayor’ (teacher) that more of the budget should go to their idea. For example, ‘We need more money to plant extra trees to make the residents feel happier’.

After working together, we presented our proposals. We had such great ideas, our ‘teacher mayor’ approved them all!
