Year 11 Leadership Camp

At the Year 11 Leadership Camp, we participated in various team-building activities and communication exercises. We worked together to solve puzzles, navigate obstacle courses and complete group challenges. Seeing how our teamwork and effective communication skills improved throughout the camp was incredible. We learned the importance of listening, expressing our ideas and supporting one another. It was a truly empowering experience that taught us valuable lessons in leadership and collaboration.

One of my favourite highlights of the camp was the Melbourne Challenge. Everyone was put into groups and the goal was to do all the activities in time; whoever finishes first, wins. Although our group was quite serious about this challenge, we also developed so many skills, including teamwork, communicating, listening, creativity, time management and most importantly having fun. And guess what? We were the first team who finished all the activities and finished the game in time!

The key learning from the Leadership Camp was the importance of teamwork, communication and giving your peers a chance to talk. Our group in the Melbourne Challenge discovered that by working together, splitting tasks and letting everyone have the opportunity to deliver their ideas, we were able to achieve our goals more efficiently. It taught us the value of listening to others, expressing our ideas and supporting one another.

From the three days of the Leadership Camp, I hope to apply the lessons of teamwork, active listening and positive behaviour in my future endeavours. In Year 12 and beyond, I will work collaboratively with others, actively listen to their ideas and effectively express my own thoughts. I will also maintain a positive attitude and treat others with respect and kindness. These skills will not only contribute to my personal growth, but also help me succeed in various aspects of my life.
