Year 3 News

 Math

In Maths the year 3’s have been learning to collect data and create graphs to represent the information. One of our first graphs was for our arcade games. We had to ask the people that played our game what classes they were in. We created tally charts to record that information and we used that data to make bar graphs.

The graphs told us which class came the most. Then we used Excel to make the graphs.

The next graphs we made, we had to come up with our own questions to ask our classmates which option is your favourite. Then we used that information and made graphs in our maths books.

Year 3 Arcade - Reflections

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

The Year Ones were coming.

“Creek”, the door opened. They were here and I was so nervous!!!

I got everything ready. After one minute I had my first customer. I was really happy. After five minutes, I had five people lining up to play my game.

“Ok Year One, you have to go now!” the teacher said. The left very quietly and I was so proud of myself.

After Fruit Break, the Year Twos came in quietly. I was excited this time and nervous at the same time. A lot of people wanted to try my game. I was really busy. I even lost my voice at the end. The teachers rang the bell and called “time to go!” and the Year Two students quietly left.

After lunch the Preps surprisingly came in very quietly. I was super ready. I screamed “PLAY MY GAME!” which made a lot of people come over to me.

We had a great day sharing our Arcade Games.

Year 3 Arcade

I did not know what I was in for. The Preps, Year Ones and Year Twos were so much to handle! First we had to get tickets, stickers and Maths books out to see which grade liked our game the most.

First the Year Ones came and I was really excited and nervous at the same time! I got 37 people in Year One to play my game which was a good amount. My Arcade Game was the maze Runner and it was good.

When Year Ones left I was relieved because we had fruit break. Then the Year Twos came They were very sensible and I got 31 people to play my game which was really good.

Then the Year Twos left and it was lunch time!! After lunch we had the hardest grade of all. Prep! I had 27 people play my game from Prep.

It was so much fun!!

Year 3 Arcade

On the 11 October Year 3 were all getting ready for the Year Ones, Twos and Preps to come to their Arcade. The teachers were handing out stickers and tokens. We all set our rooms up, then we set up our arcade games on our desks.

The next day, everyone in Year Three came in with a smile, they couldn’t wait for the other year levels to come in. We all got in our positions. First the year Ones came in and everyone was so excited. Some people were nervous.

At the end of each session, the kids would go to prize table and with the tokens they got from playing each arcade game they would get two prizes of their choice. At the end of the day everyone was tired and happy.
