- Artistic Materials and Processes: Materials and processes are traditionally used in the creation of art in various cultures.
- Artistic Techniques and Styles: Various cultures use different artistic techniques and styles to create their unique artworks.
- Artistic elements can be found in art from diverse cultures.

Students Will Create:
- Mosaic drawing of a pattern explosion: Exploring shape, colour, composition, and detail, inspired by Tibetan mandalas.
- Sumi-e Japanese ink paintings: Experimenting and applying the painting techniques of different images – Bamboo, fish and birds, this ancient technique of black ink painting originating from China and Japan.
- African Year Level Mural: Developing an understanding of the distinct bold painting styles of various African countries and how we can celebrate these in our mural design.
Science

Earth is a unique planet in our solar system.

- Earth’s place in the universe.

- Investigate characteristics of objects in the Solar System.
- Create a model representing rotation and revolution of the Moon, Earth and Sun.
- Observe the movement of our Sun and Moon in our sky.
- Explore how humans have sought to explore an understand Earth's place in Space.
Music

Central Idea:
Earth is a unique planet in our solar system.
Lines Of Inquiry:
- The Solar system has inspired many music compositions.
- The way advancements in technology have affected the sounds produced in compositions.

Students Will:
- Learn and choreograph songs for the Christmas Concert.
- Listen and respond to a range of compositions about our planet.
- Sing ‘Lanterns’ and discuss theme of the lyrics (fighting for our world).
Physical Education

How we organise ourselves
Central Idea:
Teamwork and participation in games influence the success and fairness to all players.
Lines Of Inquiry:
- Strategies for effective teamwork-
- Continue developing the use of strategies, teamwork, cooperation and commitment in a game. Undertake a variety of roles, such as umpire, coach and team manager.
- Students are developing skills in how they play a game, sportsmanship and leadership qualities instilled in their performance outcomes.
- Continue to develop skills in a game using prior invasion game knowledge and applying those skills to creating a new game.
Key Concepts:

Students Will:
- Create a game with a team and develop rules, tactics, focusing on game sense and strategies.
- Incorporate knowledge of different games such as Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee.
- Using Orienteering to enhance perspective on planning, leadership, teamwork, communication and connection with others.
Library
All students are encouraged to borrow books from the library. The focus is on reading for enjoyment, interest and information.
The children also have the opportunity to practise their borrowing skills and further their love of reading.
The library program also supports and extends the units of inquiry being studied in each year level and provides classrooms with resources to enrich the units offering varied forms of information.
