From the Principal

Dear Families,

This week we has been difficult for our Galilee Community, with the sad new that Tae Yoon Jin, a Year 5 student at Galilee, passed away last Friday morning. Although we were aware that Tae Yoon had not been well, his passing was still unexpected and came as a shock to many in our community.

Tae Yoon Jin is survived by his mother Seol and his sister Lea, in Year 3 at Galilee.

We would like to thank our incredible school community during this time. We were already aware that the Galilee community was special but have been overwhelmed by the way our community has come together. Thank you for continuing to look out for each other and be supportive of each other during this difficult time.

Tomorrow, Friday 10th November, Galilee will be closed for students and staff, so we can come together and draw strength from our loving God at Tae’s funeral and celebration following the funeral service.

Please take care in the coming days.

BUBBLE PRAYER FOR TAE

Bubbles are magical. They make us smile. They make us giggle.

They remind us of simple joys and simple times.

Bubbles are brief.

They are here for just a moment, sparkling, bouncing, shimmering.

Then, having completed their task, they are gone.

Left behind is the memory of the joy and the experience.

As we watch bubbles dancing in the air, let us be thankful for Tae’s time on earth.

It was not long enough for anyone here,

but Tae completed his task with us, brought joy, light and energy into our world.

Now his task is completed.

While it makes us sad to not have him in our world,

you can remember this sparkling life that bounced through your lives

and left memories that will stay with you forever.

Amen.

We sincerely thank all of our community for their care, empathy and kindness.
