MIDDLES CAMP
MIDDLE'S CAMP
Last week, the middles ventured out for an overnight camp at Urban Camp in Parkville. To kick off the adventure, we attended Imax and watched a film called “A Beautiful Planet”. It tied in wonderfully with our Earth and Space Inquiry unit as it explored Earth and other aspects of the solar system with an in depth view from the International Space Station.
Afterwards, we headed to Urban Camp for some lunch and a quick play in the park before walking to lawn bowls at Princess Hill.
When we arrived back at Urban Camp, it was time to get settled into our rooms. Then, we had time for some games in the park before having delicious burgers and potatoes for dinner.
At 6:30 it was time to party along at the silent disco. We danced and sang to our favourite songs, with the DJ taking our requests whenever he could. ACDC and Taylor Swift were the biggest hits!
The next day, we had breakfast at Urban Camp and tidied up for Miss Kate’s infamous room inspections! Once our rooms were clear, we walked to the Melbourne Zoo for a day admiring and learning about the different types of animals living there. We also got to explore how zookeepers help keep animals happy and healthy by creating enrichment toys. We got to see and touch some of these toys, making guesses as to what type animal enjoyed each toy.
