A fantastic result for Seth McCleish winning the 400m and Triple Jump State Titles and also a Bronze in the Long Jump. Ben Day achieved a Silver in the 110m Hurdles which is a great effort from him. Unfortunately, Sienna Bilinski developed a knee injury before the event and was unable to compete. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Intermediate Table Tennis -Geelong Table Tennis Centre - Thursday 19 October
Last Thursday nine students from Year 9 and 10 represented the school at the Geelong region Table Tennis competition. The Boys representatives were Niksa Jarausek, Ethan Papazoglou, Declan McKay and Justin Cangco. They won their first two matches against Bellarine and Geelong. Their third match against Northern Bay was a close competition with Northern Bay winning by one game. The final match against Grovedale (eventual winners) was a little one sided with Grovedale winning 5 rubbers to 1. A highlight of the boys competition was the singles match between Niksa and Grovedale’s number one player Noah. A high standard match with both players displaying their A grade skills. Niksa finished the day undefeated in the singles without dropping a game and demonstrated the form that earned him selection in the Victorian squad earlier in the year.
The Girls team, Lillah Bushell, Marli Phillips, Mikayla Marsden, Dayna Maring and Riak Agoth had a very successful day. They won their first three matches against Northern Bay, Geelong and Bellarine to qualify for the final against Matthew Flinders. After the four singles matches the scoreline in the final was 2 rubbers each. The result would be determined by the last two doubles rubbers. Matthew Flinders won both doubles to become the Geelong Champions. Congratulations to the North Geelong Girls who ended up Runners Up in the Geelong Region. Both Marli and Dayna were undefeated in their singles matches throughout the day.
Well done.

Year 7 Girls Tennis
On Wednesday 18th October, Year Seven Girls competed in School Sports Tennis at Geelong Lawn. They played their first matches against Oberon College, losing two sets to one. Their second match was as close as it gets, with Bannockburn Secondary College narrowly defeating NGSC. The teams drew on games, but unfortunately Bannockburn won on sets. While the team missed getting a place in the final, they played extremely well and learnt a lot on the day. For many of the team it was their first-time playing competition tennis and their enthusiasm, encouragement and persistence was great to see! Well done girls!
