Year 10 Pathways Excursion

On Wednesday, 1st November, several of our Year 10 Pathways students (with staff Melinda Selman and Orhan Sahin supporting!) undertook a Community Project. A special mention to Thelma McFarlane, who also came along at the last minute to save the day!

The students walked to Frankston East Primary School. Once we arrived, they split into groups to run fun lunchtime activities, all created by our impressive students.

Group 1 was planned and prepped by Taylah P and Sienna B. Working with the Preps, they read them a story and made them a colouring book.

Group 2 was Jasmine B, Nick W, Beth E, and Connor F, who organized a Teddy Bear Picnic for the Grade 1/2s, which was very well received. All the children said they had lots of fun, including our Year 10s!

Holly B and Lilah H planned a super disco for the Grade 3/4. The girls set up the hall and danced the lunchtime away! Yet another successful activity with the students all coming out saying how much fun they had had.

Luke H, with his creative brain, ran a workshop with the Grade 5/6s on how to write a creative story. This particular workshop was a massive hit, with several students wanting to get Luke’s autograph, believing he would be famous one day!  The teachers also commented on his expertise and professionalism.

Lastly, Luke K and Kaelan F demonstrated to a mixed-grades group how to draw a self-portrait. Luke had carefully and thoughtfully prepared a step-by-step guide, and his students were good at following the instructions. This was a great workshop with all inspired Primary students and one excited Primary teacher creating their masterpieces under our students’ guidance!

All our students involved did an excellent job and should be proud of themselves. They represented McClelland College proudly.

Well done all!
