VM News

As always, the VM program was buzzing with many events this term, which included excursions, guest speakers, celebration day, award ceremonies, and Year 12 final presentations.

SPEED Careers - Week 4 VM students listened to guest speakers from various industries, which included the police force, St Kilda FC, education, hospitality, and chemical engineering. Students were amazed, amused, and educated as they rotated through each guest speaker. They were hopefully motivated by a career possibility that they may not have considered before…particularly the idea of joining the police force.

YEAR 12 FINAL PRESENTATIONS

Week 4 included the Year 12 students formally presenting their VCAL/VCE VM reflections. They offered to the VCE VM leaders and principal team. For all students, the presentation was their exit ticket out of McClelland, and while some students couldn't punch out quickly enough, for others, it was an emotional experience! Thanks to the VM team, Kathryn, Jess, Andrew(s), and Jodie for giving the event that added spice and validity for students.

VCE VM NUMERACY

This term in Year 11 Numeracy, students created a character profile for a board game. The students used dice and physical tasks to determine their character's strengths and weaknesses for their fantasy board game, loosely based on dungeons and dragons. Students completed three physical tasksand used dice to determine their character profile. The students used the character profiles to create a fantasy board game where chance and probability played a significant role in determining the outcomes of the game simulation.
