Student Excellence: Mikayla Williamson

One Year 12 student to keep an eye on who we are incredibly proud of is Mikayla Williamson. She has been breaking sporting records at the local level since her junior years, but as you can see from the Herald Sun and AFL website, when she recently smashed the time trial record at the recent time trial combine, she is bound to be picked up early in the AFLW draft. Mikayla is a genuine all-rounder, recently picking up a major FMPLLEN award with fellow students. Well done to Mikayla, and I’m hoping you get drafted by the Saints!!!

Staff Excellence

At McClelland College, we are proud that our successful student outcomes also mean we have many staff who move on to more senior roles at other schools. Recently, Mr Shaun Doherty (who oversaw the senior school, amongst other responsibilities) left us after being appointed Principal at Koo Wee Rup SC. We have just advertised the vacancy statewide and are in the process of filling the position. Ms Karin Miller, Assistant Principal for the Middle School, is stepping away at the end of the year, and we are proud to announce  Miss Danielle Harry as the successful applicant in that statewide advertised vacancy. Miss Harry started here several years ago as a pre-service teacher and was appointed to a teaching position. She has been a fierce advocate for disengaged students, working most notably in the Flexible Learning programs at school, but she also taught junior Maths and VCE psychology. She has been part of the Leadership Team as a Learning Specialist, contributing to student engagement, voice, and agency. We are proud to announce that she has just been appointed Assistant Principal from 2024 and look forward to her continuing to add value to the College in her new role.

On behalf of the College community, congratulations to Miss Harry!
