Year 12 Exams

Year 12 students begin their exams this week. After a year of hard work by the students and their teachers we wish them the very best on their exams.

These exams will run for the next few weeks until the middle of November.

Year 10 Applied Learning Excursion

Yr 10 Applied Learning students volunteered their time this week to assist with a habitat project for the Southern Brown Bandicoot in Kooweerup North. The project is being run by the Cardinia Environment Coalition (CEC). Students planted around 1000 native plants of tube stock in a prepared site. The plants, consisting of small shrubs and long grasses, will hopefully provide a dense understory vegetation and in turn provide protection from potential predators. This is the second year in a row students from St Peter’s College Clyde North and Cranbourne Campuses have been able to assist with this project and also follows on with the earlier tree planting day organised by the Yr 12 VCE Vocational Major students at Garfield.

Year 8 Humanities Day CLN

Last Friday, 20 October, the Clyde North campus celebrated our annual Humanities Day! Humanities Day is an incursion program that runs all day where specialist presenters perform a series of activities and hands-on experiences for our Year Eight students to immerse themselves in medieval history from both a European and a Japanese perspective. The sessions students engaged in included weapons and armour, medieval tournaments, crime and punishment, medieval games, and medieval Japan. The Medieval Tournament allowed students to engage in historically accurate training for knights and learn to wield swords with a trained specialist, and their session on medieval Japan allowed for dramatic sessions on all the political overthrows that occurred between noble warlords and their loyal samurai. While it was a shame that archery was cancelled, our Year Eights played a series of games that were played by many children which allowed them to better understand the niche history and perspectives of childhood.

A special thank you to our staff who assisted in supervising, partaking in, and guiding our students on their learning quest in Year Eight Humanities.
