Hello from Music

Hello! Music has got off to a wonderful start this year with lots of dancing and playing instruments. Here is what our newest and oldest grades having been up to:

Foundation 

The Foundation students have been working on being the boss of themselves in their classroom and during music they've been practising being the boss of an instrument. They have been showing they can wait until the music starts before they begin playing and can stop when the music stops. 

We have also been singing and moving to Bee Bumblebee, Here is the Beehive and Busy Buzzy Bee and this week students drew eyes on a tiny bee finger-puppet and used them to move in time with the music. Unfortunately we were too busy for photos this week, but you may have seen a tiny bee floating about. 

5/6

The 5/6 classes have been working on describing songs using musical terms and imagery. They compared two different versions of The Flight of the Bumblebee and discussed the similarities and differences between them. They then played along (exceptionally well I must add!) with yet another version of the same piece of music using chime bars.
