Welcome back Fern Students to 2025! The past few weeks have been filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community as our students have settled into their routines. It has been wonderful to see their positive attitudes and eagerness to learn. Students have clearly been embracing our theme for this year of ‘All learners thrive in 2025’.

From day one, our students have shown a strong commitment to their studies, actively participating in lessons and embracing new challenges with curiosity and determination. Whether it’s engaging in class discussions, collaborating on projects, or diving into hands-on activities, their enthusiasm has set a fantastic tone for the year ahead.

Beyond academics, we’ve also seen students supporting one another, demonstrating kindness, and contributing to a welcoming school environment.  Highlights of our term to date include the Year 7 Welcome Week, which enabled Year 7 students to settle into their new surroundings and develop a connection to both our House and the school.  Our Year 12 students participated in a fantastic excursion to the Cable Park, which enabled them to spend some time together and set the scene for a cohesive and focused start to what will no doubt be a challenging final year of their studies.

I do want to remind all students of our Fern focus areas for the start of the year around entry and exit routines to classes, maintaining respectful relationships, and our Fern superstars which enables us to recognise our students that are regularly demonstrating positive behaviours.  A reminder also about uniform requirements and the challenge that Mrs Ogden has given all students around correct wearing of the PE uniform.

Such a smooth start to the year would not be possible without the efforts of all our wonderful staff that have contributed to the organisation and running of the learning program, so thanks to you all. As we continue through the term, we look forward to celebrating achievements, fostering growth, and making this year a memorable one for all. Thank you for your ongoing support and we’re excited for all that’s to come!
