Deputy Principal's Update
In the last fortnight we have held two significant events in the life of the College, our 2025 Commencement Service and our Year 4 - 12 Swimming Carnival.
The Commencement Service was a beautiful, God-honoring evening to begin the year. Student Leaders were presented with their badges, the 2024 College Dux was honored, and prayers were offered for the board, leadership team, staff, students, and families. Pastor Tim Smock shared an inspiring message on leadership, and the College Chapel and led us in wonderful worship. It was a special time to dedicate the year to God.
The Year 4 - 12 Swimming Carnival was a fantastic day of competition and team spirit. House Captains and Senior Students encouraged younger swimmers, and it was great to see so much enthusiasm. We have some very fast swimmers progressing to interschool events. In some sad news for adults, but great news for kids, the students won the Splash Clash Relay, which is our Staff, Parent & Student race! Well done Students and a huge thank you to all the Staff and Parents that helped out on the day. Special thanks to Mr Zeunert and Miss Stephen for their hard work of planning and preparation for this event. Big thanks also to the PTFA who ran the canteen and looked after Staff and Students alike.

This week, we are thinking of our Principal, Allister Rouse, as he is in the USA to tour schools and attend a leadership conference. We pray it is a fruitful time of learning and encouragement.
Upcoming events include:
26th - 28th February - Year 7 Camp
3rd - 7th March - Year 9 Great Ocean Walk
4th March - Kinder Picnic at School
5th March - Year 7 & 10 Immunisations
- 6th March - Junior School Athletics Carnival

In Memory of Rev. Ivan Barker
The King's College community would like to acknowledge the passing of Reverend Ivan Barker who was the Founding Chairman of the first King’s College School Council in 1984, upholding that position until 1998.
Reverend Ivan Barker was Minister at St John's Presbyterian Church (1980 - 1998) and will be remembered as an integral part of King’s College formation.
We praise God with thankfulness for his life and legacy.
Our Learning Support Team
We have a wonderful team of Learning Support Staff at King's College. In the next few Newsletters we will share a little about some of them, to help build connections between them and our students, parents and the wider School community.
Leah Emeny
I am in my second year of working at King's College in Learning Support. I completed my Education Support Certificate back in 2023 and thoroughly enjoy my role. Currently you will find me working in the Gideon 4, 5 & 6 class and the Year 6 class with Mrs Robertson. I am married to Shane and we have two sons - James & Will. When I’m not working you will find me in the garden tending to my Dahlias!
Karen Gittins
I completed my Certificate 3 in Education Support in 2024 and I love being part of the Learning Support Team at King’s College. Presently, I am in the Gideon 4,5 & 6 class in the mornings, and the Year 3 and Prep class throughout the week. I love learning and helping students with their studies, so they can fully enjoy their individual learning journey. I am married to David, and our son Jordy is in Year 4 at King’s. We have a furry gang consisting of two fluffy Dogs and one Cat. I enjoy finding weird and wonderful designs which I want to (try to) build one day as a beginner DIYer.
