Hello Yarra Road School Community,
As I stepped into Yarra Road last week, I felt truly honoured and excited to join such a warm and vibrant learning environment. The sense of community, dedication to education, and shared passion for student success are evident in every corner of the school.
From my very first day, I have been warmly welcomed by staff, students, and families alike. It has been a pleasure visiting classrooms, witnessing the incredible teaching and learning taking place, and engaging with students as they eagerly share their ideas and aspirations. Their enthusiasm for learning is inspiring, and I am looking forward to supporting them on their journey this term.
A special welcome to our new Prep students and their families! Starting school is a significant milestone, and it has been wonderful to see our youngest learners settling in so well. Their excitement and curiosity are contagious, and I commend our teachers and support staff for creating such a nurturing environment to help them feel comfortable and confident as they begin their school journey.
As the Acting Principal for Term 1, my priority is to continue fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and empowered to thrive. I am eager to work alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, and families to ensure that each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
This term is shaping up to be an exciting one, with various events and activities planned to enhance student learning and engagement. I look forward to getting to know more of you over the coming weeks and encourage you to reach out for a chat when you see me around the school. Together, we will make this a fantastic term filled with learning, growth, and community spirit.

With the return of school activities, particularly during the back-to-school period when traffic congestion tends to increase, it is important to remind the school community about the importance of following road safety practices around schools, particularly at student pick up and drop off areas.
Please click the button below or see the attached safety information so we can ensure that there is safety on and around our school crossings.
