A reminder that next Friday 28th February is a School Closure Day. See below other School Closure Days scheduled for 2025.

1. Friday 28th February: Review Focus
2. Tuesday 11th March: Writing Focus
3. Friday 19th September: Writing Focus

4. Friday 5th December: Inquiry Focus and Handover for 2026

    

Principal Appointment Process Update

The process of appointing a new Principal for Holy Cross is underway. The position has been advertised, and this week we welcomed Senior Managers from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) as part of the selection process. They spent time speaking with children, families, staff, and the School Advisory Council to gain insight into what makes our school unique and what qualities our community values in a principal.

The MACS team was particularly impressed with how confidently and thoughtfully our children shared their perspectives. We appreciate the families and staff who took the time to contribute to these discussions.

We will continue to keep everyone updated as the process progresses. Thank you for your support.

Grant Update

There has been plenty happening behind the scenes with the Government Grant we received last year! While we’ll share a full update in our next newsletter, we wanted to let you know that Michael from TAT Solutions has confirmed his team will be conducting a traffic study on the afternoon of Monday, 24th February.

As part of this work, they will assess the school driveway and explore the best ways to direct traffic to ensure the safety of our children. If you're doing school pick-up on Monday, please be mindful of their presence.

We’ve heard whispers of some special visitors arriving at Holy Cross very soon… Could there be new friends joining us in the paddocks? 👀

Our Outdoor Education classes are in need of empty and clean 2-litre soft drink bottles for upcoming activities. If you have any to spare, please drop them off at the school office.

TUCKSHOP NEWS

New to the Tuckshop menu this year is Hot Dogs and Nachos!

These are available to order in the fresh food section of CDF Pay and will need to be ordered by the previous Wednesday with a cut off time of 11.40am.

We are also offering over the counter snacks on Tuesday as well as Friday in the second break. CASH ONLY.

Our Tuckshop is also looking for parent volunteers to help on Fridays. Help is needed from 11.30am - 1.45pm. If you think you can help please put your name on the roster in the office. Alternatively, please send Mel a message on 0425 883 045.
