Juniors Inquiry

Over the past unit, Where We Are in Place and Time,  students inquired into the concept of landmarks and exploring questions such as: What is a landmark, and can it be natural or constructed? What is the purpose of a landmark? Where can landmarks be found? Will landmarks always hold their significance over time? Whom are they personally connected to, and can landmarks change? Through discussions, investigations, and shared thinking, students developed a deeper understanding of how landmarks help people connect to places, history, culture, and personal experiences. They particularly enjoyed their excursion to the Geelong Waterfront and noticing key landmarks, such as the bollards. 

The Junior students have now begun a new Unit of Inquiry into “How the World Works,” where students are exploring weather and its impact on our daily lives. Our inquiries include: How does the weather affect our daily lives? What causes changes in the weather? and How do we measure weather? Students have already begun sharing their wonderings and questions for this exciting new unit as they investigate the world around them.
